Simone Haeberli graduated in German Literature and Philosophy (lic. phil.) in 2004. One year later, she added the teacher's diploma for the subjects German and Philosophy (grammar school). Since October 2005 she is working as research assistant (50%) for a project about medieval Jewish Studies and as teaching assistant (25%) for the Department of German Studies, both at the University of Berne. She is writing a doctoral thesis about the representations of Jewish scholars in Middlehigh German Literature.
Simone is interested in modern arts, classical music (opera), martial arts (karate) and generally fond of the Japanese language and culture. She has undertaken various trips to Asian countries such as Japan, China, Tibet and Mongolia.
